In 1983 the Gothic cathedral of Reims was the first building I ever photographed. I was very impressed by the grandeur and perfect proportions, trying to capture it in pictures. Since then, the passion for architecture and photography have grown increasingly. During my study at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent, I could develop my photographic imaging skills. At the same time I have formed an architectural vision through conversations with architects, architectural lectures and literature. Since 1994, I make photographs commissioned by architectural firms at home and abroad. In addition I am working on a personal oeuvre. In my photographs I attach great importance to absolute accuracy in the reproduction of architectural dimensions and proportions. Architectural fragments so get often an abstract value. This year, three works are selected for the Canvas Collection exhibition in Bozar Brussels.
